Not a lot given away here, but that's one ominous house.

Neon, fresh off the stellar marketing campaign they put together for Longlegs, appears to be doing something similar for Presence, a film directed by Steven Soderbergh about a house that may have something sinister living within its walls.

We’ve got two trailers so far for Presence. The first, clocking in at just forty-nine seconds, primarily lists Soderbergh’s other works (Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Out of Sight, Erin Brockovich, Ocean’s Eleven, Contagion, Magic Mike, Unsane, and Traffic) as eerie music plans and we pan slowly (very slowly) into a house.

The second teaser doesn’t give us much more. We’re back outside the house, which appears to be a nice-looking three-story in a suburban neighborhood. The following phrases go across the screen as we slowly move toward the open front door of the house:

In this house there is a family. In this house there are secrets. In this house there are unimaginable acts. In this house there is a… PRESENCE.

The logline for the film—”A family moves into a suburban house and becomes convinced they’re not alone” —tracks with the teaser’s assessment.

Neither of these trailers give us a glimpse of any of the actors, but the film stars Lucy Liu, Chris Sullivan, Julia Fox, Eddy Maday, Callina Liang, and West Mulholland.

We’ll see more of them, presumably, when Presence premieres in theaters on January 17, 2025.
